How to Set aInspired as Your Default Keyboard

Setting aInspired as your default keyboard means it will automatically appear whenever you tap a text field, without needing to switch each time.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Enable aInspired

  1. Open your phone's Settings.
  2. Navigate to System > Languages & input > On-screen keyboard (path varies by device):
- Samsung: Settings > General management > Keyboard list and default - Pixel/stock Android: Settings > System > Languages & input > On-screen keyboard - OnePlus: Settings > System settings > Keyboard and input method
  1. Toggle aInspired to On.
  2. Accept the input method warning (standard for all third-party keyboards).

Step 2: Set as Default

  1. Go back to Languages & input (or the equivalent on your device).
  2. Tap Default keyboard (or "Current keyboard").
  3. Select aInspired.
From now on, aInspired will appear automatically when you tap any text field.

Quick Switch Method

If you don't want to set aInspired as the permanent default but want to switch to it quickly:

  1. Open any text field so a keyboard appears.
  2. Look for the keyboard icon in your phone's navigation bar (usually bottom-right).
  3. Tap it and select aInspired.

Going Back to Your Previous Keyboard

To switch back to Gboard or another keyboard:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Languages & input > Default keyboard.
  2. Select your preferred keyboard.
Or use the quick switch method described above.

Tips

  • You can have multiple keyboards enabled and switch between them using the keyboard icon in the navigation bar.
  • Some apps may override your default keyboard temporarily (for example, some banking apps force a numeric keypad). This is normal and controlled by the app, not by aInspired.
