Understanding Keyboard Permissions

When you enable aInspired as a keyboard, Android shows a security warning. This is normal and shown for every third-party keyboard -- here's what it means.

The Security Warning

When enabling aInspired, Android displays a message like:

> "This input method may be able to collect all the text you type, including personal data like passwords and credit card numbers. It comes from the app aInspired. Use this input method?"

Why This Warning Appears

Android shows this warning for every third-party keyboard app, including Gboard, SwiftKey, Samsung Keyboard, and any other keyboard you install. It's a standard system warning, not specific to aInspired.

The warning exists because keyboard apps, by nature, see what you type in order to function. Android wants to make sure you trust the keyboard you're using.

How aInspired Protects You

Even though the keyboard technically has access to your input, aInspired has strong privacy protections:

• Secure field detection. aInspired automatically detects password fields, credit card inputs, and other sensitive fields. It disables learning, predictions, and all cloud features for these fields.
• No keystroke logging. We never log, store, or transmit what you type. Typing data stays on your device.
• Encrypted local storage. Any data stored on your phone (like word predictions) is encrypted.
• Cloud features are opt-in. AI features only activate when you explicitly use them (tapping the mic, waiting for phrase correction, opening chat).
• BYOK option. If you bring your own API keys, your data never passes through our servers at all.

Microphone Permission

aInspired also requests microphone access for voice transcription. This permission is:

• Only active when you tap the microphone button. The mic is never recording in the background.
• Optional. You can deny this permission and still use all other keyboard features.
• You can revoke it anytime in Settings > Apps > aInspired > Permissions.

Can I Trust aInspired?

• aInspired is available on the Google Play Store, which scans all apps for malicious behavior.
• Our privacy policy clearly describes what data we collect and don't collect.

• Our code for cloud features uses only well-known, reputable AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, Mistral).
