AI Chat Not Working or Responding Slowly

The AI chat panel lets you have conversations with AI right from your keyboard. If it's not working properly, here's what to check.

Chat Panel Not Appearing

1. Make sure you've enabled the chat panel. Open aInspired Settings > Toolbar and ensure the Chat tool is enabled in your toolbar layout.
2. Tap the chat icon in the keyboard toolbar to open the panel.
3. If the icon isn't visible, swipe along the toolbar to find it, or customize your toolbar layout in settings.

No Response from AI

1. Check your internet connection. AI chat requires an active internet connection.
2. Check your daily quota. Free tier users get 2 chat messages per day, Basic users get 10. If you've used your daily limit, you'll need to wait until tomorrow or upgrade your plan.
3. Try again in a moment. Occasionally, AI providers experience brief outages. Wait 30 seconds and send your message again.

Very Slow Responses

1. Check your effort level. Higher effort levels use more powerful (but slower) AI models. If speed matters more than quality, try switching to a lower effort level in Settings > Effort Level.
2. Check your connection. Slow or unstable WiFi/cellular can cause delays.
3. Long conversations are slower. If your chat has many messages, the AI needs to process more context. Start a new conversation if the current one is very long.

Error Messages

• "Quota exceeded" -- You've reached your daily chat limit. Upgrade your plan or wait until tomorrow.
• "Network error" -- Check your internet connection and try again.
• "Provider unavailable" -- The AI service is temporarily down. aInspired automatically tries backup providers, but if all are unavailable, try again in a few minutes.

BYOK Users: API Key Issues

If you're using your own API keys and chat isn't working:

1. Go to aInspired Settings > API Keys.
2. Verify your key is entered correctly (no extra spaces).
3. Make sure your API account has available credits/quota with the provider.
4. Try a different provider to narrow down the issue.

Tips for Better AI Chat

• Be specific in your questions. Clear, detailed prompts get better answers.
• Use the effort level that matches your need. Quick questions work fine on Low; complex tasks benefit from High.
• Pro users get access to priority models and unlimited messages for the best chat experience.
