How to Use BYOK (Bring Your Own Key)

BYOK lets you use your own AI API keys with aInspired. This gives you unlimited access without daily quotas, using whichever AI models you prefer.

What Is BYOK?

Instead of using aInspired's built-in AI quota, you connect your own API keys from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Groq, Google Gemini, Mistral, or Fireworks. Your requests go directly to these providers using your account, and you pay them directly for usage.

Getting Started with BYOK

Step 1: Purchase BYOK ($9.99 one-time)

1. Open the aInspired app.
2. Go to Account & Billing.
3. Select the BYOK plan.
4. Complete the one-time $9.99 payment.

Step 2: Get API Keys from Your Provider(s)

You'll need at least one API key. Here's where to get them:

• OpenAI: Visit platform.openai.com > API Keys
• Anthropic (Claude): Visit console.anthropic.com > API Keys
• Groq: Visit console.groq.com > API Keys
• Google Gemini: Visit aistudio.google.com > API Keys
• Mistral: Visit console.mistral.ai > API Keys
• Fireworks: Visit fireworks.ai > Account > API Keys

Step 3: Enter Your Keys in aInspired

1. Open aInspired Settings.
2. Go to API Keys.
3. Select the provider you want to configure.
4. Paste your API key into the field.
5. Tap Save.
6. Repeat for any additional providers.

Step 4: Set Your Provider Chain

1. Go to Settings > Provider Chain.
2. Arrange your preferred providers in order. aInspired will try the first provider and fall back to the next if it's unavailable.
3. You can set different chains for voice transcription, phrase correction, and chat.

Important Notes

• Your API keys are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage. They are never sent to aInspired servers.
• You control your costs. Each provider has their own pricing. Check your provider's dashboard to monitor your usage and spending.
• BYOK requests bypass aInspired's servers entirely. Your data goes directly from your phone to the AI provider.
• No daily limits. Your only limits are what your provider allows.

Tips

• Groq offers a generous free tier that works well for phrase correction and basic chat.
• For the best voice transcription, OpenAI's Whisper API or Groq's Whisper endpoint are excellent choices.
• Set up multiple providers as fallbacks in case one is temporarily unavailable.
