Swipe Typing Tips and Troubleshooting

Swipe typing lets you type words by sliding your finger across the keyboard instead of tapping each letter individually. Here's how to get the most out of it.

How Swipe Typing Works

1. Place your finger on the first letter of the word you want to type.
2. Without lifting your finger, slide it across each letter in the word.
3. Lift your finger when you reach the last letter.
4. aInspired will predict the word you intended and insert it.

A space is automatically added after each swiped word, so you can immediately start swiping the next word.

Tips for Better Accuracy

• Be deliberate at the start and end. The first and last letters matter most. Make sure you start and end on the right keys.
• Don't worry about the middle. You don't need to hit every letter perfectly in the middle of the word. The AI figures out your intent.
• Swipe at a steady pace. Moving too fast can reduce accuracy. A smooth, consistent speed works best.
• Use the suggestion bar. If aInspired picks the wrong word, check the suggestion bar above the keyboard -- the correct word is often one of the alternatives.
• aInspired learns your words. The more you type, the better swipe typing understands your vocabulary.

Enabling Swipe Typing

Swipe typing is enabled by default. If it's not working:

1. Open the aInspired app.
2. Go to Settings > Typing.
3. Make sure Swipe Typing is toggled on.

Troubleshooting

Swipe produces wrong words frequently?

• Make sure you're starting on the correct first letter -- that's the most important part.


• Check if aInspired has the correct language set (Settings > Language).


• Give it time to learn your vocabulary. Accuracy improves with use.

Swipe typing not responding at all?

• Check that swipe is enabled in Settings > Typing.


• Make sure you're sliding your finger smoothly, not lifting between letters.


• Try restarting the keyboard by switching away and back.

Words not in the dictionary?

• Uncommon words, names, and technical terms may not be recognized by swipe initially. Type them out fully a few times, and aInspired will learn them.

Swipe feels laggy?

• Clear the aInspired app cache: Settings > Apps > aInspired > Storage > Clear cache.


• Close other heavy apps running in the background.
